Our newcomer, Rob Gray, had his first practice with “Prometey” and answered a few questions from the club’s press service.

- We are happy to welcome you in “Prometey”. Tell us, please, why have you decided to join exactly our team?

- I mean, this is a great situation for me. Coming off my season in Turkey, I did not really have many other teams to choose from. I trust my agent, who told me: ”I guess, I have a club where you can flourish in, do the most and really make a good impact on the team to win. Why don’t you come back to the EuroCup again, join “Prometey” and try to win another one”.

- Did you watch “Prometey” games in the last year’s EuroCup? What can you say about your new team?

- Yeah. I know it is a great Ukrainian club that have always been a good team, especially in the domestic league. Last season, I watched the EuroCup games. I saw “Prometey” advanced to the Final four. Probably, everyone playing in Europe, watch EuroCup, Champions league, Euroleague or, at least, follow the development of events in these tournaments. So, I knew “Prometey” lost in the semi-final to a very good team, “Turk Telekom”. “Prometey” was one game away from having a real chance to get the EuroCup title. I hope, we can use this experience, pave this path and cap it with a win if not in this season, then in the future.

- Personally, you already won the EuroCup two years ago with “Monaco”. Do you think it is possible to repeat the same with “Prometey”?

- Such a good question. You take it game by game. Right now, we are so far away from winning the EuroCup. However, if we can be tough, be together, focused, rebound and play well in defense and score off our shots of course, we can give ourselves chance, game by game. Then we can look up in a few months, then we can have a discussion whether we have chances to win the EuroCup, we will see where we are at the given moment. Obviously, at the moment, we are trying to enter the top-6 teams to enter the playoffs. But I could say, we are able to get the trophy. We just have to believe in ourselves and take every chance. I believe in us, in our team, that we are able to become the EuroCup winners, but certainly, working hard game by game. Only by this scenario.

- What would you like to say to “Prometey” fans?

- Dear “Prometey” fans, I will do my best to demonstrate fun-to-watch performance, score points. I will just try to play well, play great winning basketball to make you want to cheer for us. I appreciate your support a lot and thank all of you for that.
