Comment by the head coach of BC “Prometey” Ronen Ginzburg on the eve of the EuroCup game against BC “Lietkabelis Panevezys”.

-Coach. “Prometey” has started in the EuroCup with the game against “Lietkabelis” and won that game. What has changed since October? We have two new players, “Lietkabelis” has no new players. What do you expect from Wednesday’s game?

-Well, you know, to play against “Lietkabelis” is weights all the time, it’s difficult. Until now, all their wins were in home games. They are really a “home team”. They have four wins and all four wins were at home. So, it will be really difficult to play over there. They are playing the same system and we need to be ready for this.

-Our new player, Marek Klssen scored 17 points against “TalTech”. Are you satisfied with his game?

-Yes, but for sure he can be better, you know. Now we play against really good teams and we need to be much better than it was before. But overall, it’s OK.

-What would you like to see from Marek and other players in Panevezys?

-First of all, we need to play very good defense, to be very disciplined on defense against them, because if you don’t play smartly in defense, like we did in the last game against them, they will punish you and you cannot get a lot of points. We need to be really aggressive against that kind of team. Because it’s an away game, there will be their fans there and other things, so we need to come aggressive - all players and from the first minute.

-And a question about Illia Sydorov. Is he still injured? When will he be able to return to the game?

-It’s very pity, but Illia has had this injury since national team. And right now, it’s two months since then but he is not ready yet. I hope, he will be ready in two weeks. But still, he will need time to comeback into the shape as he missed not one week but two months. But he will have something for you this season.
