Ronen Ginzburg: "Brescia" is one of the strongest teams, one of the favourites"

Ронен Гінзбург: «Брешіа» - одна з найсильніших команд нашої групи, одна з фаворитів»

This weekend “Prometey” held two games of the Latvian-Estonian League and obtained two victories. Already on October 18, the team is leaving for the EuroCup match against “Brescia”. The press-service of “Prometey” asked the head coach Ronen Ginzburg about the current situation in the team on the eve of the second tour of the 7DAYS EuroCup.

-Mr.coach, “Prometey played two days in a row in the Latvian-Estonian league, and now you are going to Italy. Are players not tired?

-We have now one-two days to take a little time for recovery. But that’s our schedule. Well, it is not easy. Today, I split all minutes for all players. I hope we will be okay in Italy.

-In the Latvian-Estonian league, “Prometey” plays well, defeating their opponents with a significant difference in score. What do you think, whether it can be a problem to switch from the LEBL to the EuroCup level?

-You know, until now, in the Latvian-Estonian league, the only game was really hard for us. It is “VEF Riga” and it helped us to prepare to EuroCup. The other two games were not too tough, but, you know, it’s better to play than not to play. Today, in the second half we didn’t run fast break even if we could run as we needed to work on some stuff, so it helped us.

-“Brescia” lost seventeen points to “Joventut” in the first tour of the EuroCup. In the Italian Championship, they lost one point to “Milano”, the Euroleague team. What can you say about our rival?

-Italian teams are good teams with a lot of traditions. They lost to “Milano” one point, but they should win. “Milano” is a Euroleague team. “Joventut” is in our group, it’s a really great team, but “Brescia” is one of the top candidates in our group, one of the strongest teams.
