Comment by the head coach of BC “Prometey” Ronen Ginzburg on the eve of the game against BC “Hapoel Tel Aviv” (Israel), which will take place on November 14 at 19:00 at Arena Riga.
- Coach, how are you feeling after Friday’s win over “Riga Zelli”?
- First, it is always great to win. Second, for the certain minutes, we played better than in previous games, but still it was not perfect.
- You will face a tough rival. Two “Hapoel” players are in the EuroCup top-5 in efficiency rating, three its players are in the five best scorers of the tournament. Will this game be tough for us? What can you say about “Hapoel”?
- There is a lot of talent in this team, great players in the back line; they score at a high percentage. And overall, “Hapoel” has many good-quality players. This team scores many points, a good-quality team that demonstrates a good-quality performance.
- You have noted, “Hapoel” scores many points. I wold say too many – on average 98.6 per game, which is the second EuroCup indicator. There are top-3 teams with the best offense (“Paris”, “Hapoel” and “London”) are in our group. How we have to play in order to surpass a team with such offense?
- First, we should not let them run. If they run, they will score many easy points. This is primarily. Second, we must be more aggressive in defense. We know their players, we know what each of them is capable of. But the main task for us is to stop their fast breaks.
