Comment by the head coach of BC “Prometey” Ronen Ginzburg  before the EuroCup semi-final. As a reminder, on April 26 at 19:00 at Arena Riga, our team is hosting Turkish “Turk Telekom”.

- Coach, the EuroCup semi-final is a historical achievement for the club and you did it without Kennedy and Lukashov. Tell us how you managed to win and reach the semi-final without main players.

- I think, again, if the team is healthy and everything is working well then when some players are missing, someone can jump and replace them. I think we have an experienced versatile team. I am talking about basketball, right. So, we managed to do it, but still, I’d prefer that we haven’t left these guys because they all, D.J. and Denys, do a good job. All the season we had problems with injuries and every time someone else was missing. This is our strength that we are a good as a team and we play well together. 

- “Promitheas” could score only 57 points. It was an amazing win! What about “Turk Telekom”? Are they stronger than “Promitheas”?

- Of course, they are stronger! They have the first position in the Turkish league! Just two weeks ago, they beat “Fenerbahce”, they beat “Anadolu Efes” – the Euroleague teams. They have only three losses in their league. So this is a good team. And you know, all teams who came to the semi-finals are good. We are also good. We have some issues against them that we need to solve. We will see.

- MVP of the 1/8 final has played against us. Now, MVP of the quarterfinal is going to play against us. I mean Jerian Grant. What can you say about him?

- This team is not just about Grant, it’s a good team but, for sure, Grant is a high-level player. He has long arms, he can penetrate, and he can shoot. We need to try to stop him, but as I said, they have a lot of weapons. It’s not only Grant.
