Comment by the head coach of BC “Prometey” Ronen Ginzburg on the eve of the semi-final of the Latvian-Estonian league.
- Coach, thirty-one win in a row, first places in both tournaments and bad bad luck with Kennedy’s and Agada’s injuries. What are your thoughts about this situation?
- Now we have another problem with Stephens. Probably, he is also not going to play. I don’t know what to say. I am 40 years in basketball and I’ve never seen something like this. I am speechless. To lose three players in one week – it’s crazy. And we make a great season. Now, we need our other players to adjust. We have three games in five days and we have only nine players in the team. I hope we will do it. It will be really tough now but you know, we have players with character.
- Did the games against “Viimsi” give you any information about what has to be adjusted without Kennedy and Agada?
- Of course, they gave me information. The first information after the second game against “Viimsi” is that we need to play first of all in defence because in offence we have more difficulties now. We played a good third game against “Viimsi” in defence. In offence, you know, players need to be more confident and play basketball more freely. I can’t change the system of the team too much because they just don’t have practices, so we need to play with what we have, with the system what we have and we’ll see.
- What can you say about “Tartu”, about tomorrow’s game?
- They’ve been showing during the season they were improiving, improving a lot. They have good bigmans, one of them is also from Ukraine – Voinalovych. They have a new pointguard, a good player. It’s a good team. They did not come to Final Four by mistake. They are one of the Top-4 teams in this area.
