Comment by the head coach of BC “Prometey” Ronen Ginzburg after the match against BC “Cedevita Olimpija”.

-We knew that in order to defeat “Cedevita Olimpija”, which is one of the best teams in attack, we had to play well in defense. In the first half, we made some mistakes but managed to stay into game. But in the second part we played in defense excellently. We kept them at 64 points. Generally, they score 84. So, it was mighty efforts of our players. Most part of the game we played well. All match long we played well in attack, we did not have any problems. The only and the main one was to stop Yogi Ferrell and Josh Adams; and I think we did a great job.

-You did not have any problems in attack. What adjustments did you make in defense?

-We tried different options. We started with one type of defense, then changed it. As a result, when we put Stephens to controll Ferrell, it stopped the entire opponent team. So, it was a good choice for us.

-As we have seen before, when Stephens defends against shorter players, it works.

-DJ is well known by his good play in defense, he is capable of defending against players of all positions. We used his skills when we needed it most, of course, not during the entire game but at the certain moments , when we needed to change a course of the game.

-Also, several steals and important throws. DJ is not only a good dunker and a strong guard but also a skilful shooter. But I remember, when we played against Italian team, their coach said that his game plan was to defend against the shooters, but in this regards he didn't think of Sanon and Stephens. They punished him then for his opinion. And today DJ made six three-pointers.

-Listen, he is a great shooter. Sometimes, at the trainings he does not miss at all. His percentage of long-range shots remains almost at the same level – about 35%. Today, Stephens was excellent from long range. If DJ played against us, I would not leave him alone at the three-point line.

- How do you like to play at Zalgiris Arena? How do you like the support here?

-It’s great. Better than last time. Fans were more active. It is a pity, we are not playing in Ukraine, as the game we are demonstrating deserves a full arena of spectators. However,  the current situation is like this. And all my respect to the players, as they are not driven forward by a full arena of fans. in this aspect, fans helped us a lot today. Every time I go to Zalgiris Arena, it is like the Mecca of Basketball for me.
