The second match of "Prometey-2-DDTU" with the southern "Khimik-2" had nothing to do with yesterday's match. From the first minutes, Dmytro Markov's wards began to resort to offensive actions, that were based on confident defense and aggressive play on the rebounds. Already in the first quarter, the guests collected 5 rebounds on opponent’s bachboard, which resulted in attacks of the second and even third chance. Igor Klimov (individual passes and hits from the middle distance), Bohdan Bryniuk (confident play in opponent’s "paint") and Daniil Pyrohov (completion of attacks from under the hoop and hits from the perimeter) confidently completed most of the team's attacking actions.
Before the long break, these three players of our team scored a total of 28 points out of 38 and did not stop there: another 33 points for three of them in the second twenty minutes. Prometey-2-DDTU was mostly in lead and the main question about the result of the match could be only asked in the first twenty minutes of the match. In the 18th minute, after a three-point shot by Dmytro Kleban, "Khimik-2" took the lead for the first time after a long break (34:31), but the guests regained the lead before a fifteen-minute break with a successful attack from the perimeter by Maxim Bezyma.
In the third quarter, Dmytro Markov's wards began to increase gradually their lead and in the 25th minute, after another successful action in rival’s three-second zone by Bohdan Bryniuk, the handicap reached a double-digit mark for the first time in the match (50:40). The team from Yuzhne mostly used their leaders Oleksandr Kovlyar and Denys Klevzunik in the attack, but today the guys did not receive the necessary support from their partners. For example, Ruslan Ivashov started hitting from behind the arc only when everything in this match was clear.
"Prometey-2-DDTU" took a convincing revenge from the opponent, but yesterday's failure led to the fact that our team dropped to the second line in the standings. They have 10 victories in 14 matches, and the leader - the club "Old Lutsk-University" - one victory more. Over the coming weekend, February 19 and 20, Prometey-2-DDTU will host BC Khmelnytsky on their site in Slobozhanske. The matches start at 18:00 and 12:00.
