All seven matches of the starting round of the second stage of the High League championship on Saturday and Sunday ended with the victories of the teams that played in the second group in the first stage. The match in Yuzhne of local "Khimik-2" and "Prometey-2-DDTU" turned out to be in this peculiar trend, as our team played in group N1 in the starting part of the championship. The hosts obtained a convincing victory, and for the "red and whites" this defeat was the biggest in the championship.

The guests led only twice in the debut of the match, and their opponents in the middle of the first quarter within two minutes organized a 9-0 jerk, which greatly influenced the course of events throughout the match. Today, the team from Yuzhne have gathered almost the best line-up: with Oleksandr Kovlyar, Denis Klevzunyk and Anauar Rakhimshaikov, who already have enough experience in the Superleague. In the end, Klevzunik and Kovlyar turned out to be the most productive and effective players of the match. Denis has 26 points and 27 efficiency rating, Oleksandr has 17 and 23, respectively.

However, the leaders of "Khimik-2" took some time and the first breakthrough of "Khimik-2" was organized mainly by the efforts of Dmytro Kleban and Ruslan Ivashov. As for our team, it failed to defend during the first quarter, which evidenced by 30 missed points.

After the first break, Dmytro Markov's wards reduced the gap to seven points, but the team from Yuzhne regained their dominance due to another effective series - 9:1. For the long break, the teams went with "+20" in favor of "Khimik-2".

After the rest, the "red and whites" made many efforts to change the course of the game. In the last minute of the third quarter, Maxim Bezyma with a successful attack from the perimeter reduced the deficit of points to 15. However, even before the last break, Olexandr Kovlyar managed to answer with his accurate three-point shot, and another jerk (11:0) in the start of the last quarter decided everything in the match.

"Khimik-2" won 104:70, and tomorrow at 13:00 the teams again will go to the site of the southern FSC "Olymp".
