"Prometey" and "Ternopil" approached the second face-to-face confrontation of the seasonal series in a different emotional state: absolutely nothing is threatening the leadership of our team, and the other way around, Dmytro Zabirchenko's team has formed a disappointing series of four defeats in a row. At the same time, Ternopil players on this stage no one time were defeated for more than 10 points.
Today, the only representative of Western Ukraine in the Superleague for the first time this season were defeated with so devastating score. The second match in a row (before which the championship ring for last season got Maxim Lutsenko, who now defends the colors of "Ternopil") "Prometey" even once did’t give the lead to the opponent. However, unlike Monday's match with "Budivelnyk", there wasn’t such tension on the court. The national champion started the match with a jerk 8:0 (D'Angelo Harrison scored twice from the arc). One and a half minutes before the first break, the Red and Whites' precedence reached an ambiguous two-digit mark for the first time in the match. However, at that moment Ternopil managed a great segment 10-0, which ended with the fact that Dmytro Zabirchenko's wards equalized the score at the beginning of the second quarter.
Ronen Ginzburg reacted to this development of events immediately by returning of players of the starting five D'Angelo Harrison, DJ Kennedy and Oleksander Lypovyy on the court, and it immediately bore fruit. D'Angelo and Oleksander scored twice from the perimeter, which formed the basis of a significant jerk of the hosts (13:2). In today's match, the percentage of hits of both defenders of "Prometey", as well as Chris Dowe and Illia Sydorov reached the mark of "60+" percent. The guests absolutely did not cope with the speed of the hosts and lost the second ten minutes - 8:29.
In the second half of the match it was impossible to talk about any relaxation of the Prometey players, but both quarters, as well as the starting one, our team won with a precedence of only one possession of the ball. However, the final success was very convincing - 25 points.
"Prometey" obtained the 19th victory in a row, and on Sunday will play another home match, where their rival is "Kyiv-Basket", who, like our team, currently represents Ukraine in the European arena.
