The 7 round and, at the same time, the second third of the BKT EuroCup regular season in group A starts with a clash between our “Prometey” and “Hapoel Tel Aviv”, Israel.
Our team will face a very tough competitor with a 4-1 balance in its first five matches. The only unsuccessful match of the Israeli club was in the last game week, when it in Paris lost to the local “Paris Basketball” (87:114), which is, at the moment, considered by many experts as one of the main contenders to win the EuroCup.
This fail has broken the four-match winning streak of “Hapoel Tel Aviv”. At that, three wins at once were gained by the team in the road matches. In all winning matches, the nearest “Prometey” rival outpaced its opponents in most trow indicators, fight under the boards and team interactions. In terms of assists, “Hapoel Tel Aviv” has no equals in the EuroCup now (on average 25.0 assists per match).
The team of the local specialist Danny Franco is also very dangerous in long-range shots. For example, in a match won in Venice (97:81) it fired in 66.7% (!) of three-point shots – 12 successful attempts out of 18. Three team’s players at once – Xavier Munford, Tomer Ginat and Jailen Hoard are in the five best EuroCup shooters. This fact indirectly speaks that most of “Hapoel Tel Aviv” roster players are able to take responsibility in every certain match.
It will be very difficult for Ukrainian club to get back to the winning path in the tournament already tomorrow. However, it must try to do this as with each round the level of fighting to storm into the playoffs in group A will rise rapidly. Despite the latest failures in the EuroCup, there is no reason to doubt that “Prometey” is able to improve its performance already in the near future.
