On November 8, the heighbours in the tournament standings, BC “Wolves” and BC “Prometey”, clash in the match of the EuroCup regular season in Lithuanian Vilnius. “Wolves” approaches this match with 2-2 balance and the 6th place in the group A tournament standings. At the same time, the “titans” has played one match less and have 2-3 balance and the 7th place.

“Wolves” started this season not in the best way, losing two their starting matches (to “Paris” and “Joventut”), however later, they managed to bounce back and correct the situation with the wins over “Besiktas” and “Cedevita Olimpija”.

At the moment, the worst thing for the Lithuanian team is losing Latvian point guard Arturs Zagars, who was one of the brightest players at the WC-2023. Zagars was injured in the overtime of the Lituanian championship game against “Lietkabelis” – he had torn the knee ligaments and finished the season early. Therefore, “Wolves”, who are the rookies in the EuroCup, has to play without the player who had an important role in this ambitious team.

For “Prometey”, who lost two straight previous matches (In the EuroCup it lost to “Paris” 79:96, and sensationally lost to “Ogre” 76:85 in the LEBL), this confrontation with “Wolves” will be an extremely important one since a road victory may help Ronen Ginzburg’s team somewhat rehabilitate for the last results.
