Only in the fourth preseason match of "Prometey" the team's fans had the opportunity to get to know with the updated line-up, which changed by about 50 percent in the offseason. What we saw certainly gave our fans at least some satisfaction. Of course, in the official games, especially in the EuroCup, the "red and whites" will face much classier opponents than "Ventspils", but on the other hand, the strength reserve of Ronen Ginzburg's team today could not fail to impress. Not using the top gear, the team obtained the biggest victory of the offseason. The final figures of the protocol eloquently testified to the complete dominance of "Prometey": 56 rebounds against the opponent's 37, 25 assists against 15, 10 steals against 1 (!) and only 4 losses against 17.
Only in the first two minutes of the match, the best team of Ukraine allowed the opponent to lead in score. In the next three minutes, she went on a 15-0 run that determined the rest of the match. This spurt was organized by the starting five of "Prometey" with two newcomers of the team in its composition - Ondrey Balvin and Gian Clavell. Both of them left a pleasant impression. Ondrey simply dominated on both boards and his double-double (19 points + 11 rebounds) was a confirmation of this. As for Gian, his 43 percent of accuracy from the arc was a reminder that the Puerto Rican was one of the best players in the domestic Superleague last season.
"Prometheus" did not stop at its first significant leap. Already in the 14th minute, after a long shot by Illia Sydorov, Ronen Ginzburg's wards reached a handicap of three dozen points (44:14). After that, they however missed a 0:10 spurt from the opponent, but it was only one of two jerks by Ventspils during the match. The second happened at the beginning of the final ten minutes, when the Latvian team managed two consecutive shots from a distance. However, several steals of the "red and white" ended in effective attacks and restoration of their full advantage.
"Prometey" not only won this quarter, but also proved the winning point difference to "+40". Our team obtained the fourth consecutive victory in a series of control matches, and next week they will start the Turkish stage of pre-season preparation. As for the nearest sparring match, it will take place on September 23, and the well-known European giant - Turkish "Fenerbahce" will be the opponent of "Prometey".
