The day before, on November 11, men’s Ukrainian National basketball team came off a convincing victory in the match of selection for the WC-2023, defeating the Netherlands on the road with the score of 96:77.

This one is the biggest victory of Ukrainian National team in the matches of selection for the world championship. Besides that, the players of our “Prometey” and the National team Illia Sydorov and Denys Lukashov set a sequence of individual records for the basketball players of the National team.

25 points by Illia Sydorov is a record individual indicator of productiveness in the matches of qualification for the world championship. Before that, the record was 24 points by Sviatislav Mykhailiuk in the match against North Macedonia in July of this year. In general, this result in official matches is in 8th place, and the record one is 29 points by Artem Pustovyy at the EuroBusket-2017 in the game with Lithuania and by Oleksiy Pecherov against Estonia in 2009 in selection for the EuroBasket.

Denys Lukashov repeated his own record of 9 productive assists per match in the selection for the World Cup. His previous achievement he set in February 2019 against Montenegro. More assists were in assets of Lukashov at the EuroBasket-2017 (11 assosts) and one more “Prometey” player Oleksandr Lypovyy in 2016 in the match against Bulgaria (10 assists).

Denys, who is the leader of historical rating in terms of assists in the National team’s t-shirt, brought his indicators to 220 assists. The second one in this rating is Oleksandr Lypovyy with 134 assists.
