In the third round of the BKT EuroCup regular season, at “Arena Riga”, Prometey will host a club from Great Britain London Lions.

Tomorrow’s opponent of the “titans” is one of three Group A teams that started with two wins: the home one over Reyer Venice, Italy (76:69) and the road one over Hamburg (100:94). The successful start of London Lions is adding principled stance to tomorrow’s confrontation. At the same time, English club’s presence among our group leaders is still somewhat unexpected. London Lions is an ambitious project targeted to enter the Euroleague after some time, however before the season started, the team was not considered as one of the EuroCup favourites.

Despite such predictions, first successes of the club from Great Britain in the 2023/2024 regular season should be recognised well-deserved. For instance, in both EuroCup matches, the accuracy percentage of London Lions’ two-pointers was nearly 60; in Hamburg, the team excellently attacked from the perimeter – 12 successful attempts out of 24.

Certainly, the current champion of Great Britain and present leader of the tournament (7-0 from the start) is itching to continue its winning streak in Riga. However, for sure, Prometey has its own plans for tomorrow’s confrontation. “Titans” are completely capable to put the negativity after the fail in Istanbul aside, demonstrate brilliant and inspiring game and drive it to such a needed victory.
