
Already this week, starting from July 15, men’s National basketball team of Ukraine will begin preparation for the Olympic pre-qualification matches, which will be held in Istanbul in August. This was said on the official FBU website.
The team will gather in Riga where, under the heading of the new head coach Vitalii Stepanovskyi, a training camp will be held.
Tree “Prometey” players at once – Oleksandr Lypovyy, Andrii Voinalovych and Viacheslav Petrov got to the roster of the National team. As a reminder, Illia Sydorov and Ivan Tkachenko are not able to help the team due to their injuries.

July 31. Riga, Latvia.

As a reminder, within the group round of the Olympic pre-qualification, the teams of Turkey, Bulgaria and Iceland became the rivals of the National team of Ukraine. The matches will be held in Istanbul.
To advance to the qualification tournament, Ukraine needs to be one of the best two at the group stage and then win the playoffs, which starts from the semi-finals. Only winners of the pre-qualification tournaments will get places at the Olympic qualification tournament.
