Today, August 11, the men's National team of Ukraine plays the second test match in preparation for the August qualification matches of the 2023 World Cup and the final part of EuroBasket 2022.

According to the website of the Basketball Federation of Ukraine, the team of Ainars Bagatskis arrived in Istanbul, where they will play three control matches and in the first one, they will oppose the hosts of the preparatory tournament, the National team of Turkey. This will be the first control match for Ergin Ataman's team; our team, as a reminder, defeated the second Lithuanian team in the preparatory game in Riga.

It is expected that Turks will play in the home tournament with the strongest roster. As part of Ergin Ataman's team, such star basketball players as Shane Larkin, Chedi Osman, Alperen Shengyun, Furkman Korkmaz and many other experienced players with vast experience of performances in the Euroleague are currently preparing for official matches. At the EuroBasket, the Turkish National team will play in Group A in Tbilisi with the teams of Montenegro, Bulgaria, Georgia, Belgium and Spain.

As we have already reported, 14 players went to Istanbul as part of the Ukrainian National team, who passed the first stage of the training gathering in Riga. Among them there are four Prometey players: Denys Lukashov, Illia Sydorov, Issuf Sanon and Ivan Tkachenko.

The evening before, our team held their first training session at the arena where the matches will be held. In addition to the game against Turks, our national team will play in Istanbul against the teams of Poland and Slovenia. These matches will take place on August 12 and 13, respectively.
