Comment by BC “Prometey” player Viacheslav Bobrov on the eve of the road EuroCup game against the Lithuanian BC “Wolves”, which is played already today, on November 8 at 19:00.
- Slava, last season, you played agains BC “Wolves”, just half a year ago. What can you say about this team?
- First, I would like to say that this is an ambitious team. They try to play harshly in defense. There are many experienced players in the team, who have played at a high level. Thus, we have to focus on our defense, our rebounding, first of all on our backboard, and not to make mistakes. In this case, I guess, we can win and start gaining our pace.
- What is the team’s spirit after the defeat by “Ogre”?
- There is such attitude now, that we must work more. We lost our game. In my personal view, we had to play harsher, brisker and faster. We have watched a video, our coach showed us we were not focused, did not play well in defense, did not pull rebounds and made a lot of mistakes, like kids. Therefore now, we have come to the sports hall in the morning, watched video, started working in a gym and then came to the court to practise throws.
- What are you working on the most so far? What you pay the most attention for? And how we have to play to outpace “Wolves”?
- Our games demonstrate we play wel in defense for 20-25 minutes and then we sag. So we have to raise this limit, we must play all 40 minutes long. The coach will load us in defense, we have to help each other, to communicate more in defense. So, first of all I think, it is defense. In my view, we have many players in offence who are able to score. It does not matter who will score. From the first second, we must play harshly, control our rebounding and not to allow the rivals to score easy points. We will try to win as we do need it. We are going through tough time, with ups and downs but we are one whole piece, one team. We lose all together and we win all together. I hope, our fans will watch this match. We invite everyone to support us, all our fans who live in Lithuania. We will do our best to win, first of all, for you, for our warriors who are defending our country. We are waiting for the game.
