If the nearest Windrose Superleague All-Star Game takes place on February 19 in Kyiv, the previous one took place in the same capital's Palace of Sports in 2020. Among its participants was the current bigman of "Prometey" Viacheslav Petrov. Waiting for a new show we wil talk about this and even more in a conversation of the press service of the Basketball Federation of Ukraine with a player of the national team of Ukraine.

- You have accumulated many Super League All-Star Games in your career. Which one will you single out?

- The previous one, which took place in Kyiv when the Ukrainians played against the Legionnaires. This match was the most interesting in terms of organizational plan as well. Those days the Superleague became more interesting, getting closer to the level that we have today today. Some legionnaires of a good level arrived, some Ukrainians returned from abroad: old acquaintances with whom it was a pleasure to play in one team. Of course, it is always interesting to play with legionnaires: to show your level and point out that they are not the only ones who know how to play basketball.

- Your first invitation to the All Star game - what were your emotions?

- The most pleasant emotions are from entering such an event: when fans choose or coaches complement their teams. I am not going to say that this is the most important achievement in my career, but, of course, participation in such events is very positive. In addition, it helps to develop our sport.

- Did you prepare anything before your performances in these Matches (certain "chips"): if so, did you manage to implement it?

- I have never participated in competitions, so it was not possible to prepare something. The match itself is a continuous improvisation: as it happens, so it will be.

- In which competition would you like to compete?

- If you think realistically, then in the performance of three-point shots. Although it would be interesting to take part in the skill contest, however, guards and “small” players usually perform in it.

- What is your personal record for consecutive long throws?

- There were series when firstly, there was a throw, and then, for example, after 10 accurate hits I had to continue throwing until the faulty one. Approximately 47-48 long-distance hits were performed at the training session.

- Such Matches are a show. Don’t you have a desire to enter the court in a different status: for example, Valery Plekhanov was a judge for a short while…

- To do this, a person must have some acting skills. I am hardly like that, but why not, because it is entertaining for the fans. In particular, would be interesting to comment part of this  event on TV, as Fesenko did last time.

- At some stage, you took part in the All-Star Game between the South and North teams…

- In my opinion, the most relevant option for fans is the format "Ukraine against the Legion". We play so much with legionnaires in our clubs, so, why should we do this in such matches. Earlier the reason for this kind of confrontation was the lack of the required number of legionnaires: now everything is fine.

- What do you expect from the upcoming All Star?

- This match will be right before the gathering of the national team of Ukraine. I am convinced that there will be an interesting duel and the show in whole. I hope the organizers will prepare everything at a very good level for both fans and players to make it interesting, fun, with passion and, most importantly, without injury. There are a lot of games this season: there are almost no trainings and weekends. Instead, it is a permanent hall, trains and planes, so it will be an opportunity to be distracted, physically and emotionally reload and return to the clubs with new strength. Meetings and matches of the national team of Ukraine also help in it, when you can play together with your friends who play for other teams.

- Bright basketball or the result: what is more important in the All-Star Game?

- These matches are for fans: they need to be shown what they like. However, they say and write on Internet resources that they want intrigue, struggle, not just "dunks", threes and games without defense. Then, in the second half of the match, a more focused game begins, with a certain defense, resistance to make it interesting, not sad to watch for the fans. Whatever the show, every athlete wants to win and show that he is better, stronger, so everyone will love to try to fight, especially if the match is equal.

- Regarding the current season at the club: are you satisfied with the way things are going?

- I like my role in the team: everything suits me. Regarding playing time: sometimes a lot of it, sometimes almost none (as against "Dynamo Sassari", when I got only 53 seconds). We have a composition of players with approximately equal level, so individual time is constantly changing: this is normal and even good. In one match, you are “in a game”, you can spend 30 minutes on the court, and in another one, your partner looks better in your position, so he gets longer time.

- Which of your rivals was the most difficult to deal with in your position this season?

- Among the heavy forwards, I will single out Alec Brown from "Budivelnyk", because he is similar to me in a game style, but has an advantage in height. He orients quickly on the court, sees well the opportunities for throwing, which is good for him, so it is not easy to get him in defense. This is the most inconvenient opponent.

- In general, during the last phase of your career, who was that for you?

- I have been playing against many good opponents. I cannot say they are not comfortable, but with most of them there were interesting confrontations. Among them, for example, Devin Booker, who is currently at Fenerbahce.

- Strong opponents in the front line should be in the Spanish national team too. In the selection of the World Cup - 2023 Ukrainians will play against them twice in a row in February…

- It would be better to play in the same window with different opponents. It's even more interesting, but the calendar is different. The Spaniards have a very strong national championship: they have the opportunity to play against strong opponents or are part of the top clubs. However, they have nothing supernatural. There was an evidence in the matches of "Prometey" against "Tenerife", which has several candidates for the Spanish national team. We have certain chances: especially in February, because this is not the summer when, in theory, Euroleague and NBA players would come to this team.
