“Prometey” basketball player Issuf Sanon shared in the interview for the club’s press-service his thoughts on who he misses in the new season, whether “Prometey” got stronger compared to the last year and what did Issuf himself do in summer in order to give a fight to opponents in autumn.
- Issuf, you are the last one to join “Prometey” squad for the 2023/24 season. In your opinion, how much the team changed?
- If to talk about legionnaries, almost everyone has changed except for my dear friend Caleb Agada. It is a shame that there is no Kennedy, Gian Clavel, D.J. Stephens. Those are the guys I miss. They are legionnaires who showed me different basketball, different level. I am immensely grateful to all of them for paying attention and helping me. I hope that our paths will cross again, and we will definitely meet.
- What do you personally think, this “Prometey” roster will be stronger than the last year’s one?
- We will find out only at the end of the season. If we sit a higher place, we are stronger; otherwise, we are not. So, we will know the answer only at the end of the season.
- We saw your stories in summer – how you worked out, kept fit and got prepared for the season. What exactly did you do, what did you work on?
- Yes, of course I was preparing. However, I would not liketo go into too much detail, as it is very important to me that my opponents do not know what I have been working on. I will just say that I worked on my weaknesses. And I hope, I will get rid of them this season. And everything will be completely different.
- What do you work on at practices?
- It is a difficult question. A bit on offence, a bit on defence. We are trying to build our own style, our defence. The coach is now giving us setups for both defence and offence. Therefore, I can say that we are working on everything. And of course, we are trying to be on the same page with the new players, to catch a contact.
