Today, on December 15, young players of “Prometey” made their debut in the European Youth league with the confrontation against the youth of the British club “Bracknel Cobras”. The representative of Ukraine oppose not the strongest rivel, which in the September’s tour lost 4 matches out of 5. Herewith, in two unsuccessful matches the British did not score even 50 points. With some part of probability, it could be assumed that with the clear lack of game practice “red and white” needed exactly this kind of opponent.
Instead, most team game connections were established back in previous seasons as among “Prometey” youth there are players who cut their teeth as part of High league teams “Prometey-2-DDTU” and “Khimik-2” from Yuzhne. Additionally, some guys who started their careers in Yuzhne perfectly familiar with coach requirements of Oleksandr Pashchenko, who started working for “Prometey” in summer.
As was shone by the events of today’s match, even roughly it could not give understanding of our team’s condition – so colossal was its advantage over the opponents. Only in the first quarter, the British demonstrated more or less considerable resistance to our guys losing it with the difference of just 8 points. In all following 10-minute segments, in fact, there was oonly one team on the court – “Prometey”. “Red and white” became co-authors of the new opponent’s anti-record in the component of productiveness: “Bracknel Cobras” did not score even 40 points. At the same time, Oleksandr Pashchenko’s squad stopped just 5 points before the three-digit mark. Almost one third of the team's scoring asset (31 points) was achieved after the transit attack, and the "red and white" scored 50 points from the rival’s "paint". Particularly impressive was the advantage of "Prometey" over the British in the offenfive game - 28 assists against 6!
At the same time, even with such dominance, probably, the coaching staff of our team will have what to analyse with guys before the next matches. First of them will take place already tomorrow, on December 16, at 13:30. The opponent of “Prometey” is Latvian club “Riga/LU”.
