Another match of the Latvian-Estonian League, where "Prometey" hosted Latvian "Valmiera", preceded the last long break in the season. Therefore, it was very important for our team’s players to go for this break in a good spirit.
The coaching staff of "Prometey" used only nine players in this match. However, it was not difficult for them to open the team's third dozen of victories in the LEBL. In the debut of the match, the teams exchanged identical 8:0 spurts. After that, Ukrainian club managed another spurt, which allowed them to bring their handicap to a double-digit mark yet before the first break.
In the second ten-minute segment, “Prometey” players" started succeeding in three-pointers. During the quarter, the “titans” had a considerable 44 percent of accurate long-range shots. This factor, along with reliable defence (between the 11th and 15th minutes of the game, the opponent scored only from the free throw line), allowed Ronen Ginsburg's squad to increase their advantage to two dozen points.
By and large, the fate of the match was decided in its first half. The second half was more competitive, but "Valmiera" was unable to change the course of the game drastically.
"Prometey" won with a score of 91:77, and Tai Odiase once again gave an excellent performance: 31 points (a personal record in the LEBL) and 34 points of the efficiency rating!
The Ukrainian club will play its next match on the road. On February 28, in Liepaja, Latvia, "Prometey" will clash with “Liepaja”.
