At the finish line of the BKT EuroCup regular season, for most of the teams in Group A, every match is like a playoff confrontation. This could be fully applied to today's match between the Israeli "Hapoel Tel Aviv" and our "Prometey": both teams desperately needed a victory.
The confrontation between the rivals supposed to be very competitive, and this match mat all expectations in full. Within the first five minutes, the teams took the leadership in turns several times, and in the second five-minute segment, they exchanged jerks. Ronald March capped the 7th minute with a three-pointer, after which the handicap of "Prometey" reached 7 points (19:12). The opponent responded with an 8:0 run, but the "titans" said the last word in this quarter. March nailed two more three-pointers, and then Issuf Sanon made two excellent individual cuts - 29:22 in favour of the Ukrainian club after 20 minutes of the game.
"Hapoel" completely leveled its deficit (33:33) within just two minutes of the second quarter. Caleb Agada successfully fought at this difficult moment on the opponent’s board, and then Oleksandr Lypovyy sent Gian Clavell into a fast breakaway. Slightly later, Ronald March, with his fourth consecutive long-range shot, returned to “Prometey” handicap by 7 points.
Before the long break, "Hapoel" reduced its lag, and already after the break, it took the lead after a long pause. The Israeli club significantly improved the percentage of long-range shots. Unfortunately, the "titans" increased the number of turnovers. «Hapoel» deservedly won the third quarter, however, before the last quarter its advantage was calculated by only one point (82:81).
“Prometey” snatched the decisive segment in its favour having a complete dominance on the floor. The whole team was like one piece and it was even difficult to single out anyone in its line-up - each player who stepped onto the court looked brilliantly.
"Prometey" won with a score of 105:113. In case of the next success in Venice, Italy (the match will be held on January 30), the "titans" will ensure their participation in the playoffs one round to go in the regular season.
